Default 7290 Back Button - No click

Please Login to Remove!

Seems like the spring on the back button of my 7290 has failed.
The button still works, just the spring to hold it in the "off" position is gone so it gets pushed easily, ending my calls and escaping apps all the time.

I bought my unit on ebay so I have no warrenty.

Does anyone know if this is an easy thing to fix if I open up my blackberry?

if you open up the device you are going to find that the button you are pressing, simply presses on another, self contained button which is soldered to the board of the device.

Unless you know your way around a circuit board, and a small one at that, and you have a steady hand, a small soldering iron and nerves of steel, I recomend you take it to one of the main cingular stores, if that's who your provider is, they may be able to repair it for little or nothing.

Hope that helps.

the button still works, just the click to keep the button off is gone, so I'd assume the button is still connected to the board.

What makes the click, a spring?

how hard is it to open up my blackberry to take a look?
