Default T-mo BIS and 1and1.com via IMAP, OWA, or POP?

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings all -

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have done some searching on this but I can't find a definitive answer. My company is looking to switch hosted Exchange providers. Currently we use T-Mobile (and I guess it is their BIS solution) and Mailstreet (with what I suppose is the BES service) to get my e-mails sync'ed to my 7290 in real-time.

We are moving to 1and1.com, and they don't have a Blackberry add-on service. So, can anyone tell me what my experience will be like if I use T-mo's BIS service and have it "pull" or whatever via IMAP, POP, or OWA (it appears 1and1.com supports all three types)? Will I still get real-time e-mail and be able to send mail showing it coming from my [email address] address? Thanks!~

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I use 1and1 for my personal account. All I had to do was make sure my mx records were pointed correctly.

Hope this helps.

When it syncs does it mark all of your e-mails as read in your Outlook client or are read and unread messages handled properly?

We use 1and1, but not exchange. My IT guy just set my 1and1 account to forward to my blackberry address(I'm the only one with a blackberry) and for it to leave a copy on the server so I can still get it through Outlook on my laptop. It has worked great for me.
