Anyone order one of these?

I notice that the description states you have to lock the device before you put in in the case, and that means it probably does not have a sleeper magnet built in. I emailed them to ask directly, and when I hear back from them I will post the answer in here.

I always thought a case made of made of neoprene (wetsuit material) would be interesting.

I'm starting to become interested in getting a case for my 8700. Which is another way of saying that I'm starting to get very confused...

Here is the response to the question about the sleeper magnet:

Quote:
Yes this rugged holster DOES have the sleeper magnet built in and will recognize when the Blackberry is in the hoster and conserve your battery life by shutting down the screen.

don't see the excitement. The rip offs looks like
a nylon sock with velcro and some metal on it...
prolly good if you're in construction work, but its
not office sleek enough for me.

but "rip offs"...that is a funny name for a case.

We're not talking about the Rip Offs right now, we're talking about this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Blackberry-8700-...ayphotohosting

And BTW, they updated my question - so they were mistaken:

Quote:
Oh I am sorry - I thought this was being used for 7290. This rugged case is primarily designed for the 72 series but I have used my 8700 in it consistantly and I like the fit although yes - with the 8700 the sleeper magnet doesnt put it in sleep (must be the position) therefor I took dial from home screen off my8700 and now simply press the k key to lock the device before putting it in.

I've got a list of a few dealers for RipOffs who have the case in stock. I shall place a call to them in the next day or two to try and acquire a case.

The Rip-Off cases are made of PAC Cloth, which is a heavy duty nylon. The next question is, do you get a metal clip, or belt loop version...

I just ordered my case from GT Distributers in Austin, Texas for 21.54 with Shipping. The case list price is 13.95. Choice of clip on, via a heavy duty metal spring clip, or a belt loop. The case should arrive in 2-3 weeks as GT did not have any in stock as of today. Expect a review as soon as I get it.

Here is the list who do have them in stock today.
Excelsiar Fire Protection
516-378-6700
SAM Distributing
505-710-9018
GT Distributing
(They are in-state for me, and I spoke to Patrick who was EXTREMELY helpful!)
800-443-6283
(I like the fact that they have an 800 number)
