Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.1 UP.Link/1.1)

The 4.1 for the 7130 has different jre code. Remember the 7250 is an ARM proc and the 7130 is an Intel Xscale

This smells fishy to me. Can anyone confirm this procedure?

The 7130e has the Qualcomm MSM6500 chipset. Currently, the only Blackberry device with the Intel xscale is the 8700.

As I download this new software, is anyone clear on how the PRL issue is being handled?

The new voyageur s/w works wonderfully - unfortunately I can't verify network connectivity as I'm currently at a client site. The client is a hospital and frowns upon my BBerry use ;-(

I can't get the new voyageur s/w to connect... BB switches to modem mode, and then I get an error 19 with the Voyageur Software. I used to be able to connect with a direct dial of #777 and then my @1x.bell.ca with v/m password, but that doesn't work any more (when I used to connect I would get an IP, but couldn't ping anything).

I must be missing something... probably need the new PRL, or have to subscribe to the data-to-go service.

I can't get it to connect either. Unlike you, I don't get an error. It just seems to hang up on "authenticating.." Tried entering in the original voicemail password, etc.

The Data support guy said there are two updates which must be installed by a tech at a Bell World: A "mobile IP" update, and of course the PRL.

These aren't yet available....

businessonthego.ca site says at the bottom of the 7250 page...

---

Already have a BlackBerry 7250 and want it to be even faster? Check in again after April 24th for instructions on how to upgrade your device to the 1xEV-DO mobile broadband network. At no cost to you!

---

Come on Apr 24th....

*sigh* Now the site says May 5th.

And the instructions better not be "Head to a Bell World store starting June 1 ... "

I want my EVDO! You'd think Bell would be trying a little harder here... would be nice if they just told us the right date the first time!

quote from Bell web site:

Quote:
EV-DO
EV-DO stands for EVolution - Data Optimised and is a data only network. 'Data only' means that the 1xEV-DO mobile broadband network is dedicated to wireless data needs, including e-mail, opening attachments, accessing corporate Intranets or the Internet and using feature rich applications. With average download speeds between 400 -700 kbps, Bell clients can now enjoy broadband-like speed, wirelessly, wherever their business takes them.
this is from the businessonthego1.com website (I can't post links yet)

but remeber that EVDO is a shared network - similar to wifi... if everyone is using it your speeds will decrease.
