Any tips?
Man, I love that. I wish I could find a company that would be willing to do that for people, I would pay someone to do that.

tips: take the housing off, very carefully use tape to cover up the screen, sand it well:
use lots of layers, let dry for a few days, then use a sharp knife to remive the tape covering up the screen (if you dont use a knife, the paint around the screen wont be seperated from the tape and will peel up when you take off the tape) then spray on several layers of clear coat.
finally: LET IT DRY FOR A LONG TIME. a week at the very least, but that probably wont be enough. otherwise handling the phone will leave fingerprints on it, and the paint will peel off quickly. this is the most important tip- if you dont have 2-3 weeks for this project, dont do it! like i said, the phone above was a gift, so i had all the time in the world to let it dry because she already had a phone.

Awesome job! Bet you scored some major points for that effort...and an A+ for patience.
I was thinking that it wouldn't be long before there is some third party outfit making plastic housings in designer colors, much like the cell phone face plate options, provided it doesn't violate some patent or such.
one quick q. Did you have trouble re-seating the keys when reassembling? Would think the paint would add some thickness, causing a clearance problem.

It isn't a blackberry, but the same methods apply.
I pinked up my daughter's Dell laptop. I just bought an extra back cover for the LCD and worked on it over several weeks. Like dinx said, take your time. I did one coat of paint and sanding per day for a week. I left it all out in the garage and just worked on it as I was coming and going. I did the same for the clear coat afterwards. 3 or 4 coats.

Excellent job! Came out really nice, just remember to wash & dry, clay, do some scratch removal if necessary, paintwork cleanser, detail spray, sealant (some Klasse AIO) and topcoat/wax every 4-6 months.
Is it safe to assume that we have some car detailing enthusiasts here? I'm one! Don't know what I'd do without this forum!

I showed that to a friend/co-worker of mine, who is both female and a pinkophile.
Now she wants one.

Call me wacky but all i have to say about nycpeach is "EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!"
That aside, look at the prices...$400 to have someone put bits of plastic all over your BlackBerry? What the hell. I should start a business with this and only charge $300.....I'd make a killing.

If you want to find someone to do it for you, you could try and take it to a body shop and have them coat it. This of course meaning you take the shell of or buy an extra which I recommend for warranty and insurance claims.
