I finally got it to work. Was a PITA but I had to go thru My Computer>Local Disk>Program Files>Omega One> Journal Bar-BlackBerry to get it to work.

Back to the drawing board, eh?

I left Journal Bar installed, so if you have any suggestions or questions I will check back.

Thanks again for trying.
I'm stuck here also on my 7105t. I have tried their products on PPC before and they work great. Hopefully the bugs can be worked out for BlackBerry.

I've got it working on my 7130e. I like the program a lot. I wish the news portion of it were working though. Def. a product I'd be interested in.

I finally got past the determining connectivity issue. I just had to wait for it to connect.

Can you give it a shot even if it's just for me. PLEASE

I'll do all the testing so you don't get the boot in the middle of the night.

Sorry for the delay in ronrad getting back to you. He's on a road trip during the month of April and only has occasional access to the web. More and better things will appear from the beta next month.

Sorry for being a little out of touch in the last while. I had another commitment I couldn't get out of, and ended up being offline for the majority of the time. I'm currently working on gettting our news feature up and running, and tracking down bugs from the beta. Thanks for your patience and please keep the comments and suggestions coming!

I am now actively monitoring this forum again ...

Thanks,

Ron

New version up to address the startup exception ...

If you were having problems with an exception when you first started, please try the latest version:

http://www.journalbar.com/bb/install.html (first time)

http://www.journalbar.com/JrnlBD.EXE (if you have already registered)

Thanks,

Ron

I am following the steps to update JB but when I go to select it in the Desktop Manager Application Loader, there is no option for me to update it and it gives me the all too famous "No applications designed for this device" error. Help? I am using a 7105t from T-Mobile BlackBerry Internet Service 2.1 with OS 4.1.0.292. I got the original beta application to load fine. I still can't get the News tab to work.

Hi as I have stated News isn't ready quite yet, these were just a few incremental updates. I'm currently working on News, and the OTA download. OTA should probably work by the end of next week. Erica, I'm going to try and contact you directly to see what is going on and figure it out. Thanks!

Default Congratulations!

First off many congratulations for getting the comms to work correctly.

I am a UK Vodafone user and your auto configure sorted this out just fine and I had immediate weather and stocks but could not get the news to work.

The GUI is a bit strange to BB users in that you use the click to enter a screen, always valid but so should enter.

You might like to know that PocketDay has never worked for me with comms despite a lot of support, so for me it is a major achievement to sort out this problem.

On the news thing I cannot access the news screen either in the main or options screens.

Since typing this I found that you previously stated news is being worked on which is fine. If news is up to the standard of the rest of the prog it will be great work.

How do I ask for UK stocks?

Hi Richard, thanks for the feedback!

I will definitely add the enter key in a number of different spots as an alternative to the click. This is feedback I have received from several people. I am also going to add using the alt key to activate scrolling through lists without popping a listbox up ...

At any rate, can you give me an example of a UK stock you would like to use? Theoretically, the code is in there for the non US stocks, but I have been having some fun testing it, so having a concrete example of a stock not listed on a US exchange, but on the UK would be great!

Thanks again for the great feedback ... I'm heads down on getting the news sorted right now!

Try ARM and MKS. These are both big stocks so there must be some prefix to tell the system these are UK rather than USA stocks.

Hi Richard, the format should be GB:ARM as an example. Unfortunately, that is not working. It will be working by next major release!

How do I know which version I am running? The .ALX file still says beta1.

I just sent you a PIN, ronrad. Thanks for the update. Had issues with my 7105t so I had to uninstall the program.
