Well I set the ringtone for the "Ringer_ClassicPhone" and now when it rings it vibrates, rings the regular ringtone that it's default setting is set at then it rings the classic phone ringer? Thing is I don't want the default ringer to go off...just the vibrate function and the classic phone option. Any ideas on what I can do because i'm going crazy trying to figure it out...i've tried everything. Thanks in advance
Check your profiles. You can edit them to function the way you want. Then Make sure you activate that profile. Each one is different.

Mine is not suppose to as well, but mine only accepts mp3s (thats all ive tried) downloaded from the web (via my own webspace) and can only be under 500k to be a ringtone....

Go to 3gforfree.com on your BB and you can dowload the ringontones there for free. You have to listen to the Ring Tone first with your BB media Player and then click Track wheel to save.

Default freeringers.net

Good site. Supports 7100. Can load many of their stock ringtones to phone easiy. Onetime lifetime charge $7.99. Also provides software for you to create your own ringtones from any format file = Once you get the hang of it it is great. Good e-mail support as well.

Give up those 2 starbuck Grandes and you got the problem solved.

If anyone gets it to work please email me. Thanks.
Found this service to work well, FreeRingers try it at freeringers.net $7.99 onetime fee, gives you software to convert anything you want and has a large list of stock ringers -

Free......$7.99. I'd hate to see what the fee would be if it was not free!!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Can you tell me if any new OS has come out for the 7100i yet? How would I know when and where would I get it?

I'm a little dense when it comes to this stuff. I am waiting for "real" ringtones.

well i finally went and got me a 7100i and am dissapointed at the fact that i cannot hear any real tones on my phone. Midi sucks i feel like i just went back to my old i95 after using an i930......kinda harsh...but the comparison im making is only ringtone related....they need some new os release...

Sent the following email to NEXTEL about the issue.
- Specific details of the issue, including any error messages you may have received
User manual states that .wav files are supported in ringtones. See page 53 in BlackBerry_7100i_-_User_Guide.pdf. .wav files will not download. I get the following error.

"HTTP Error 406: Not Acceptable

The page you are trying to load is not supported by the browser. Please try loading a different page."

Details:
"200: Application can not accept the content [audio/x-wav]"

There are many other people upset at this oversight on RIM's part. It looks as though the device supports WAV, but the browser doesn't know how to handle the filetype. Only midi works now.

http://blackberryforums.com/showthre...ight=7100i+wav

http://blackberryforums.com/showthre...ight=7100i+wav

I would like a mailing address to send this issue so that it may be formally processed.

Some people have stated that the BlackBerry is a business device and that true audio playback is not a desired feature. But this is a fallicy. The device's form factor, and even the advertisement on the box allude to the fact that this is a device intended for both professional and personal use. "I need a tool that's buttoned up at the office and lets loose after work." Not only that, but it SAYS in the manual that .wav files are supported.

Frustrated user,
X. X.
