Dose the 7290 have an internal (backup) battery? If so can it be replaced?

Nope. What are you trying to do? Data is stored in non volatile memory.

Unhappy

my 7290 keeps powering down, (screen goes blank LED holds red then goes off) then I have to reboot it (by pulling the battery) to get it to come back on. Called Cingular BB support and they told me ether the main battery or the internal battery need replaced. I did not think it had an internal battery, and the main battery shows plenty of charge when it happens. Do you have any guesses what the problem may be? Should I try buying a new battery?

Thanks

I would buy a new battery. There is no internal battery - at least none that we can get to.

Angry

Ok, so I went to the Cingular store and one of the reps looked the phone over and said the battery is fine that it is probably the phone, but I just discovered something. When it dose its little shut off thing, if I press in the track wheel down the LED lights back up, then the BB boots back on. Has this happened to any one else? Is my BB 7290 toast? I am leaving for vacation on Tuesday and really need this thing up and running any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

The BB gives you a few seconds to cancel the shutdown before it does shutdown. Maybe you pressed the thumbwheel before the BB shutdown and the BB started back up again.
