Will an unlocked version work on the Cingular network?

Sure would. The trick is getting one unlocked. Every time a new phone/PDA comes out it takes some time for the unlockers to figure out how for that particular model. It took more than 3 months for the unlockers to figure out the Treo 650. In 3 months Cingular will have them, if not sooner.
