Default Sending and Receiving meeting requests ??

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 6230 w/ BB 4.0 via BWC / TMO.

All I want to do is send an email with a meeting request. For some reason I can't do this. At first I thought I was a simpleton, but not I think the Blackberry can't handle this.

Also, I'd love to be able to send iCalendar / vCalendar files to my BB, and "import" them into my Calendar. Can't figure it out...

Am I missing something here?

I am not sure if it is a BES feature or not, but when i set an appointment in the Menu I have the option of "Inviting attendees" this is sending a meeting request, like I said I dont know if that is solely a BES option or not.

hmmm not sure about the iCalendar one.......from what it sounds like you want to do, you may want to research signing up for a BES.

It sounds like you would use a lot of the features of the BES. Yea its an extra 20+ bucks a month, but i love it and i cant live without it now. look into Mobileweb4u.com. Dave is amazing with customer service and his service rocks, and its a great price for what you get.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I'd love to be in a positing to spend $20 / a month, but I can't. Work doesn't cover this little toy

So, the consensus is, BB Mail and Calendar just doesn't support Invite, w/o a BES?

Cheesy!

Default vcalendar/ icalendar files imported to BB

Hi,
I have a 8700c with Cingular. No BES, just strait internet.

I would like to say post my icalendar/vcalendar files on a webserver and download them strait to my blackberry from the web.

I've set up the web server, the blackberry goes to get the file (calendar.ics) and says:

Unsupported media type: application/octet-stream

Which tells me that the blackberry is willing to download it if it knew what to do with it.

Anyone have success in doing this?

Thanks,
Brian
