Default Desktop Manager 4.2/8100/7100/8700

Please Login to Remove!

I am a mac user and want to use my GF's PC to save my 7100 data and then load onto my new 8100.

She uses the BB Desktop Manager that came with her 7290 and syncs her 8700 with it. I don't want to mess up any of her info, can anyone help with:

1. If I load the new Desktop software on her computer will she still be able to sync her 8700?

2. Can I save the info from my 7100 to her computer without corrupting her data?

3. Can I then hook up my 8100 and sync everything?

Thanks!

The new Desktop Software has a utility for switching between handhelds built right in. If you use this it won't affect her data at all. If you were to sync your BB to her Outlook program then things would be hopelessly co-mingled. Use the wizzard for changing handhelds, select the Blackberry to Blackberry option, and violá! It copies data from one BB and immediately transfers it to a new one, total time less than 10 minutes.

Thanks rambo, I found this soon after setting up a new user and loading the app.... really a killer addition.

It's especially spiffy if you have several Blackberries but want to keep your Outlook contacts on one device and off another. One for business, one for personal/weekend use. Switching weekend 'berries or upgrading becomes a simple matter. Some friends are borrowing my old (ha! 1 month old) 7105t to try SureType before deciding on the 8100 or 8700 with qwerty so they can transfer their current calendar, address book, notes, tasks onto the loaner I'm providing. Their Outlook data remains untouched.
