Default 7130 to 8703 (Please convince me)

Please Login to Remove!

Please convince me to spend almost $500 on this new phone. It might me worth the $ just not to have to deal with Suretype. But seriously, it it WORTH the upgrade??????

Uh...you're going to have to decide for yourself. We can't give you answers to what is subjective criteria. If you hate Suretype, sounds like you've already made your decision.

Just switched from a 7250 to a 8703e about an hour ago, one of my co-workers has a 7130. As for being pursuaded to switch from one to the other, I think on paper the 8703 will be faster, and you even said yourself the full QWERTY keyboard is a plus. But as for super duper features that warrant that much more money, I'm not sure that going from the 7130e to an 8703e is that much of a vertical leap. You can do a side by side comparison on the blackberry site, though you'll see that the differences are few and I wouldn't consider any of them to be huge decision basing differences.

Can you compare the web browsing between the two?
Thanks

Default Thanks

Pizzle - Thanks

Kabertooth. Thanks. That's the response I was looking for. I did do a side by side on the BB site. Looks like MP3 support is one of the primary differences. Is the screen that much better than the 7130 (obviously its bigger, but is there better resolution). I used to have a Treo 600 so I do appreciate the full keyboard. I just cant seem to adjust to the Suretype. Thanks.

I have a 7250 and the only real reasons to upgrade to the 8700 series are: (a) faster web browsing, (b) speaker phone and (c) better monitor lighting and clarity. Until someone convinces me that the web browsing is a major upgrade, it seems like a lot of ado about nothing.

Wish I could, the user who had the 7130e, it was the only one in our organization, and unfortunately it doesn't defy the laws of gravity, so comparing the web browsing head to head isn't possible. Sorry to dissapoint.

Yes you have and for some reason I still don't hate the gators as much as rocky top...of course we own them now. We will be rolling in w/ a freshman qb this year. We should have won last year with our backup qb...we didn't though.
