Accessing / modifing handheld files

OK.. so after lots of digging I am posting for help.
I understand from what I read that that blackberries pre-4.2 software did not have a filesystem per-say.
However when I edit a .ipd file - it shows folders /home/user/ringtones
/home/user/pictures
Now I know this is where all the ringtones and wallpapers of the blackberry are stored --- my question is how could I modify those folders to directly inject (put files into) those folders.
Here is my dilema - Nextel / RIM disabled the ability to save .wav files out of the box - can't send the files to myself in attachments nor download them from the web - wont work..
however a developer has made a program (photopix caller id) that will upload the wav files to the phone so that it will play the wav ringtones - however the ringtones only play from within the software.
I dont wish to setup every single contact with the same ringtone individually one by one - I would like to set the wav file as my ringtone however it does not appear in the list after it is uploaded as I do not believe that the tone itself is loaded into the proper folder.
Is thier anyway to inject the ringtones directly into the home/user/ringtone folder ?
There was a thread once about someone being able to create an .ipd file that would load wavs into the right spot but there was never any follow up from the creator of the thread..
Please any and all help at this would be appreicated as there must be a way to get these files onto the blackberry in the correct location - I have searched for any kind of software that I could load onto the blackberry that would let me access these files with no success.
Please reason in pm, on the forum or even via pin @ 40104001
