Default Custom Wordlist

Please Login to Remove!

Editing the custom wordlist has been discussed in a few threads. In earlier posts, I and others have recommended that users delete the garbage from the list to aid Suretype. One of the annoying things is that if you receive a message from somebody their mis-spellings will show up in your custom wordlist. This really gets out of hand if you get a spammer who loads up their viagara ads with a couple hundred nonsense words to try and beat filters.

While nosing around in the 8100 I happened into Options>Language>input options and found an option that says "Automatic Word Learning from Messages" I unchecked it and I would suspect that this will turn off the garbage from spam.

BTW, I happened into the Language option because I pressed ALT + Enter and a menu popped up telling me that my input was changing from English US to English UK. Didn't know that was a shortcut, but there's a lot I don't know.

Thanks for the info.

Is the custom word list the place to put abbreviation to full word translations?
What I mean by that is say I want to use the 'bbf' acronym in my messaging, and I would like that expanded to 'Blackberry forums' whenever I use it...

1) Is that even possible, and if so,

2) Is this correct place for it?

Thanks.

No, you want to use AutoText, available in Options.
