Default Managing storage space

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys, maybe you can help me work something out.

According to the Status screen I have:

File Free: 9660036
File Total: 65142784

So basically I'm down to my last 9MB or so, of a total of 64MB, right?

I don't have many applications installed but have about 1 month's worth of emails.

However, according to the Database Sizes information my Messages occupy 1139.5K - does that literally convert to 1.1MB ?

If so where is all my space going?

Your thoughts and suggestions will be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Andy

What about all the other entries in the Database sizes menu? Doesn't it tell you which apps eat up your space?

P.S. Turn off the Pearl and take the battery out for 20 secs.

Wow! Great tip, I did this and now it shows 23776452 bytes free.

But why was it running out of space? Don't understand what's happening, that's like one third of the entire system's memory that was totally wiped out.

Any ideas why?

Thanks in advance...

I suspect there are memory leaks that accumulate over time but you may also have a lot of programs running in the background. To keep memory free as much as possible 'Close' an app when you leave it rather than just hitting the Escape key.

Just found out also that all my November messages have been wiped!

Any ideas how or why that might have happened? Seemed to coincide with me doing the cold reboot.
