Default Data connection refused?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a blackberry 8703e and on the screen with all the icons just under the signal/battery strength it says "data connection refused". Does anyone know what this means? I have a data account but don't see the internet icon.

Wirelessly posted (8703e: BlackBerry8703e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

That message appears when you don't have a strong enough signal to use internet

Call your carrier and double check that you have the correct BlackBerry Data Plan on your account. Data Connection Refused usually means a missing or incorrectly configured BlackBerry Data Plan on your account.

How do I do a soft reset? They suggested that.

Press <ALT> <CA> <DEL>

If they told you to reset it (line one in the script they had) I would recommend popping out the battery to reset it. No data will be lost.

NJ is correct. Sounds like your data plan is not setup correctly

Yep that's exactly what it was. The sprint people set me up with the wrong data plan. I called and got the blackberry plan and now it works fine. Thanks for all your help.

Sprint has had a habit recently of adding the "Power Vision" plan which doesn't help at all with a BB.

Glad they got it resolved and enjoy your BB!

What's the <CA> button?

On Sprint this error usually occurs when you are roaming. Make sure there isn't a small R in the top right corner of the screen.

You realize the problem has already been resolved, right?
