Default How to Make BB Stop Ringing

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have a question: sometimes I go to the movies (or any other similar situation...) and forget to change my blackberry's profile to silent. If someone then calls me, the device first vibrates and then rings. Is there any way to prevent the phone from ringing when this happens? I used to do this with my previous phone, where there was a button that when pressed would immediately mute the ringer (regardless of the selected profile), although the caller would still hear the ringtones until the voicemail message appeared. This was very helpful in situations like the one described above, and it did avoid a lot of embarassing situations. Is there anything similar on the BlackBerry 8700g? I appreciate all help.

Regards,
Alan

Alan

I have a BB 7100i and when a call comes in it vibrates and then rings. While it's vibrating I can look at the screen and it gives me a choice to answer the call or ignore it. If I select ignore it sends the call to voice mail.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

There are two choices:
1. Roll the trackwheel
2. Press the Red end button.

Rolling the trackwheel temporarily disables the ringer on a lot of Blackberries (until the next ring or until you choose to ignore the call and send it to voicemail).
