Unhappy Blackberry Internet Browser

Yesterday I started having a problem with the Internet Browser on my Pearl. Initially I thought it was a problem with Cingular, because hte error messages I would get when trying to use it were "unable to connect to the internet" and "network busy".

Well, I would try and go to the same sites using Opera Mini and all was fine, so I knew it wasn't a network problem.

My question: Could my browser have gotten corupt in some way? Is there some way to have the browser resent to my phone or can i redownload it from somewhere?

I'm OK with using Opera Mini for most things, but things like Berry411, Mobileplay, Quickerplayer - basically any screen icon that connects to the internet - all depend on the Internet Browser, so i get failures with them.

You can try reregistering your device on the network (Options->Advanced->Host Routing Table->click anything and select "Register Now") as well as resending service books from within BIS. Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying.

Did the register now and resending services books (although I thought service books were strictly for email related stuff). Didn't help. I tried clearing all cache, history and cookies as well.

Sounds like a call to Cingular might be in order. Try a hard reset first though (pull battery while the device is on, wait 30 seconds, reinsert battery).

Service books basically control your access to any data on a bb, without them you woouldn't have the browsers pushed down to the device at all....

...and generally if pushing doesn't help you need to call the carrier. There have been some times where deleting the service books and then pushing them has helped but you really need to be careful which ones you delete so I don't recommend doing so without some guidance.

They ended up having to delete the service, then add it again for push.
