Default Best Free/Low Cost E-mail to integrate with BB

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry to trouble you, but ... I did search. There's so much out there, I don't know what information is still current and what's been superseded.

What's the best free or low cost e-mail system to integrate with BB (7290 through Cingular with OS 4.1)? Gmail?

I'm not interested in synching with or transferring any existing e-mail account. This is a brand new venture.

Many thanks for any help and advice.

Gmail seems to be the popular one around here. You can always refer to the dates on the threads if you're not sure what data has been superseded or has become outdated.

I have both gmail and yahoo accounts pushed to my phone, and in my experience, gmail is far more reliable than yahoo. But Cingular gives you up to ten accounts to have pushed. Why not try a few, play around with them, test them, then decide which one is best for you?

R.

I would go with either Yahoo or Gmail since they have push capabilities with the Blackberry. I have both and they work both just as good for me.

GMail and Yahoo are best.

GMail problem: you will get copy of each email you send. Fix: create filter.

Yahoo problem: it may stop working with blackberry if you have very many emails in inbox. Fix: clear (empty or trim) Yahoo inbox regularly.

Don't forget that you will still need a BB data plan for Internet and email access. You will also need a BIS account.

Default Many thanks!

I appreciate all the great help and advice -- so quickly.

I signed up for Gmail and it seems to be working fine.

Thanks again!

Go with Gmail. I've had Yahoo and found it to be painfully slow.
