Default Disable WAP version of a site?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I honestly didnt know what to search for.

I have a relatively long commute to work (approx 3 hour round trip) by train, and find myself browsing a lot of forums on the BB. Recently, a couple of my frequented forums have upgraded their sites to be able to detect if you are browsing on a "mobile device".

The issue that I'm having is that the "WAP Version" of the site is very dumbed down, or crippled, rightfuly so, as some phones would benefit from having a text only interface etc. However, this crippled version of the forum will not let me search, post or even log in, as the wap version is intended for simple browsing only.

Again, i'm sorry if this has been covered, I wanted to know if there was a way to disable the broadcast that I am browsing on a mobile device, to get the full forum content. I have tried accessing the forums directly through typing in the directory/path etc. with no luck, as I was hoping i could bypass this "mobile media detection".

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried Opera Mini? I use it and hardly ever get a wap site even for websites that give me a wap site on the default browser. If you don't want to download it, or that didn't work, you might need to change your browser emulation settings in the default browser. To do that, go to Options->Browser Configuration->and then in the Emulation Mode part, choose Microsoft IE or maybe Netscape.

Hope this Helps
