Thank Kyububba and Melkin for the solution to the problem two of us here had since upgrading.

For others here's the detailed symptoms:
1) When you first log in to JT, it sits and sitss and then eventually presents you with the error "400 Bad Request."

2) After this if you then try to manually login from within JT, you get the error "Connection retry in progress, please try again later."

See Kyububba's and Melkin's posts above for the solution.

Love this program! I noticed at first it may have been running slow, but now seems to be fine.. Been using RAMBLE and VeriChat for the longest time and I have to say this program appears to blow them out of the water. So far its stable. Easy to use, and works. Havent had any complains of disconnects yet, (verichat was bad for that)..

I installed 0.5.26 and so far I've only tested MSN but everything is working great. Even though it's still a beta, it's much more stable than other programs that I've used.

As for making it better I would suggest:

1. From the contact list, typing the first letter of the contact you are looking for so that you don't have to manually scroll through long contact lists.

2. Have the option for a separate group at the top for "current" conversations. Entries from this group would be removed once you manually end the chat.

3. Basic Emoticons

4. Being able to send/receive the MSN "nudge" requests

Great product, keep up the great work.

I have to say this program is much better then any chat program I have used on any device and I have tried them all. I like something that is reliable and stays connected.

The same thing has happened to me regarding the message a user sends me. Sometimes its on delay. I was curious about that too.

I got the update and so far so good. I really only use the program for AIM and it is by far the best I've seen. I was wondering if you were considering putting the idol feature on? Like if a buddy is idol that they'd become dim and when you scroll over them or get buddy info it would tell you how long they've been idol. I would also like to see maybe how long the person has been logged on for. Would this be considered? Also, I noticed with this updated that some the ppl that were away-mobile are now just away? Did that change or is it something on their end?

Thanks again for such a wonderful program!!!

oh and for one of you that was asking about cingular and text charges. You need a data plan. It does not charge texts. I suggest getting the unlimited play for $29.99

this plan does not include unlimited text messaging, if that's what you're trying to imply...you need to get a separate text messaging plan to go along with your blackberry data plan....

OK, I love this app !!!! Just woundering if anybody knows how they handle the beta testers. I know someone who has sent mutiple emails asking to be apart of this and they have never received anything back. At first we thought that maybe it was because they were close to a point release, but now that is out, he still has not heard anything. Anybody know if they are still adding people? Thanks

So far the program works well.

I have only noticed a couple things.

MSN:

When using MSN to chat with yahoo accounts, Jive does not pull info about yahoo addresses to the buddies list. When you add them, it creates a duplicate in the MSN adress book.

Yahoo:
Works well by itslef and even though Yahoo messenger is not available for Cingular, your version works great.

Jive:
The "available" list does not stay expanded so you can see what accounts you are using if the login all command is not used. Any chage of screen and the lists contracts.

Not sure if this problem has been reported yet. When I try to add a contact within the application, it logs me off all IM services. Running 0.5.26 on a 8703e on Bell Mobility .

oh sorry that's not what i meant. what i meant is that it doesn't charge your text messages. That you needed a data plan for the program.

Love the program. Question though: How do you upgrade from the jivetalk application without having to reload the program for every new build? I clicked around and couldn't find it.

You did send an email to their support, right? View the first page of this thread if you don't know what I am talking about.

I got my response within two days of sending an email asking to be a Beta tester. You might need to ask politely more than once.

I also agree with the above poster, EVERY other chat program I've tried on my BB is poo compared to this....

I have .26 on the 8800 and I notice my jivetalk-online bar goes grey instead of blue and then after a bit goes back to blue. If it it grey and i send a message the message stays light grey for awhile until the top bar goes blue again. This happens especialy if I have been sitting idle for awhile. 5 bars EDGE

Suggestions:
o An "End All Conversations" link in the menu
o A "hide duplicates" option (i have some people on my work and personal IM)

The only thing I'm really missing now about VeriChat is the bots! Mostly the Flight Status one. Does anyone know another program that can check flight status'?? This is VERY handy, as I travel ALL the time!

Can you make these settings a check box in the GUI? I can't figure out how to put "|direct=false", and device=true in the same field.
