undependable email push
Please Login to Remove!
I have been enjoying my 8700 for a year now and I'm now very dependent on the push email. Lately I have found the mail not coming dependably, sometimes all the mail comes in at once up to 12 hours late. Cingy did troubleshooting on the landline and the only thing that worked was removing the battery and reinstalling it. I do that now when I'm not getting mail and when I put the batteery back all the mail comes in at once. Anybody got any ideas? Could the phone have a virius? Thanks

There are NO viruses for the BB.... I'd say you have an issue with the BIS on Cingular's system or it's not registering correctly on their BIS.... Another option to look at might be a service book issue (corrupt)

I would resend the service books first. If that doesn't work, I'd delete the email accounts in BIS and then recreate them. As Lunkhead said, it sounds as if something is corrupted somewhere along the line.

I agree, you most definitely have some corruption somewhere. Follow the instructions above and you should be OK.

Had the same problem. I switched from t-mo to sprint. I use the gmail app and not push. But 2 days ago I activated my hotmail. Sometimes I got the mail sometimes I didn't or it would take up to 20 min. I deleted the e-mail and reactivated it. Worked great yesturday and now doing the same this today. I thought it was sprint.

No such thing as corruption that exhibits itself in this way.
Could be borderline coverage, network congestion, faulty handset, conflict in your BIS setup, etc.
What does your landline have to do with this anyway?

Thanks for all the advice. I did try resending the service books while on the landline with Cingy (that's how Cingy makes you troubleshoot Backbeat) but still problems so I will now delete the email account and recreate it and see what happens. Glad I found you folks.

Service books do need to be resent at times. Call it corrupted, conflicting, whatever you want, it still happens. Quit arguing symantics and contribute something instead of giving a hard time to those who try to help.
I think he meant he was talking on the landline with his provider.
