Oh. Ok, that's correct, it vibes then rings then vibes. My last phone vibed first, too. I always thought that was good becasue it gives you time to grab it before it makes noise. To each his own, I guess...

I will give you a few of my complaints....

1. Back case that cover the speaker makes it sound like s&^t
2. I drain my battery everyday
3. Can't watch my slingbox on my 8100
4. It appears there is no support yet for the 4gb cards

Other than that its okay.......................

First of all, I have to say that this is the BEST phone and service I have ever had.

So, I really have no complaints but if by chance someone from RIM decided to take a look at this thread for ideas for updates or anything...

1. Flash plug-in would be fabulous
2. Video recorder and all formats accepted for playback
3. Real-time internet (websites are exactly like your computer screen)
4. Oh, and there's the memory leak thing...

Good points for sure. Full screen playback in the BB Media Player would be nice too since I cant get the Dollars5 one to work for me.

As for the ringing and vibe, yeah, in a way it is handy.... but then how do I show off all my awesome ringtones? I would like to see an option for all 4, ring/vibe/ring then vibe/ring+vibe at the same time.

Oh well, nothing is perfect and I'm far from hating this little heap of metal and plastic. Best phone I've ever owned. (woops, I don't think I should be calling it a mere phone in here lol)

1 - camera shutter sound

2 - 2.5mm headphone socket (really wtf? dumbest choice ever)

3 - non qwerty keyboard

I think the 8300 is gonna be the one for me. can't wait.

I've had a lot of phones over the last 4 years, and this is the first one that got me to stop changing phones every 2 months. A better camera wouldn't make me unhappy, but I'm not complaining. My only gripe is that Cingular's coverage around here isn't awesome...but work is paying for it so whatever.

Wifi capabilities (other phones have it)
FM Radio (other phones have it)
MMS not on data plan
ability to turn on/off the shutter sound on the camera
ring/vibrate at the same time
Full screen video/ability to rotate the screen
video recorder
Sound recorder

If it wasn't for its size, one of the contenders could have been the Samsung BlackJack for me. Just because of Slingbox and Clicker Software

You can't, for the very reason that you have to be able to signal when you take a picture (assuming no flash) - this is actually a requirement for every phone with a camera.

Though to be honest I wish it would sound more like my Nikon SLR :(

I agree with you on that one. We need some sort of hack for that.

To each their own...but some of the complaints I don't get. For example doesnt have Wifi or no video recorder...etc?? you knew these before you brought the phone.

My 8700 vibbed before it rang also. I agree with #85 above ... sometimes it's a life saver.

Again no offense to anyone...to each their own.

My complaint is when im using messenger. If someone is typing me a message you know it says "_____ is typing"... my pearl hangs. Sometimes I'm multitasking like I'm doing something else while messaging and I have to wait for the message to come thru. It's like someone else has control of my pearl.

Arrrgh!!!Maddening!
