Unhappy Problem with Telenav on 7520

Please Login to Remove!

I added Telenav yesterday to my 7520 after updating to the latest firmware and installing the application. I am able to obtain a GPS location quickly using the Options - Location Base Services - Refresh GPS option. So I know I can get a GPS fix. However, I can not get Telenav to get the GPS data. I set the GPS privacy to unrestricted. It tries for about 30 seconds or so then displays an error that says "No data from GPS. Move to open area."

I've tried just about everything at this point. Nextel BB support isn't very familar with the app so they didn't help.

help?

I just signed up for it today. 2 reps I talked with at Nextel didn't even think it was available for the 7520. I told them there were people already using Telenav on the 7520. They say it takes 24hrs for it to start working. I can get a fix too using Location Services.

I was told the same thing 24 hours. But I thought that was just for the data provisioning, which was already working. It's already been over 24 hours. I had them reset my IP number earlier. Now, I can get any third-party apps to work. Including Web Viewer. "Unable to open connection."

Anyone know if an IP change can cause this?

I had the same situation yesterday when I signed up and they said it was going to take 24 hours but actually it was only 6. I did a master radio reset after I took the battery out and put it back in and it seemed to work. The bb support (TIER 2) was pretty helpful yesterday in letting me know that it could be "UP TO 24 hours" to get it provisioned. Try the radio reset and keep your fingers crossed.

Yes, I called them, but they think it's a Nextel or hardware issue. The rep did open up a ticket, but said it would be atleast 48 hours before they got back to me.

Telenav caused my BB to crash. I had to backup my handheld to get it to work. All i see is the nextel start page. I can make speed dial calls but i cant see my home screen. I was able to use telenav this morning but I've been having problems all afternoon.

Did you ever get yours working? It's been about 24hrs now and I still can't get a fix with Telenav. I can do GPS with Location Services and it sees 7 satelites. I get a fix with 5 or 6 seconds.

My Telenav is still not working. I called Nextel again earlier today and they wouldn't even get me to tier 2. They said that they were having so many problems with Telenav and other stuff that they couldn't troubleshoot it and try again tomorrow. Wow! Nextel must really be getting a lot of calls with problems since Monday. Probably not the smoothest rollout...

Not very encouraging to say the least. One thing I was able to do today that I had not done before. If you type alt-cap-h and then z-a-m-l you can get a GPS fix with a lot more data. I have done this before and normally the BB beeps once when it gets a fix. Well today I did it and the BB started beeping about once a second and the GPS data was constantly updating. When I would move around my heading would change in real time. I thought well maybe the telenav will work now. Still no go. Now I can't even duplicate what I did to get the real time going GPS again. The point is that the GPS on the BB is working, it's just not working with telenav.

Default Telenav installed then I lost my email - web client

I have been on the phone with level 2 all afternoon. I installed telenav last night, then I lost my email.

First, Level 2 sent me new service books, then on second call they deleted my web client and reinstalled it. After several hours, I now have my email back. Final word was when Nextel resets your web client for the telenav it causes problems, then you have to delete web client and reinstall it. Whew!

By the way, telenav is great! All my other applications work great as well.

I am trying to understand the appeal of a serivce that I am billed for monthly that I might use once a month.

Don't get me wrong. I think GPS is cool. I have a GPS unit. I even think that the voice thing is rocking.

But how often will/do you use it?
