FWIW I use my wife's RAZR chargers (both wall and car) all the time and my pearl is fine.

Not compatible from USB charger, at least with the Moto Q. doesn't charge. same port used on PC. Different voltage I think, cable cannot handle it?

USB is supposed to have a standard power output on the line. It should work. I use the USB chargers from my MDA no problem.

I believe it will either work or not work, I doubt it will blow up your pearl. Usually Lithium Ion batteries stop charging once they reach their full capacity so I don't think you need to worry about it doing damage to your phone. My home motorola charger (either razr or bluetooth hs, I can't tell them apart) can charge my pearl fine.

I charge my Pearl with a Motorola charger. It's the charger that came with my bluetooth.

My daughter's razr charger will not charge our blackberry 7130g at all. She has a car and wall charger and neither one works on the BB.

I used to charge my BB with my Motorola charger, but it used to take ages to fully charge.

I have used just a standard USB mini charger for charging my Pearl with no problems. Both in the car, and from my PC.

Same here. I use the charger from my Moto BT headset, no problems. I even use a cig lighter charger (from my PDA) and USB cable from my zen mp3 without problems. But, my daughter's razr won't charge with the latter.

Bottom line - it should work and not hurt the BB.

There's a good deal of standardization of the mini-USB connector used to charge the BB (and other phones); one key element of this is the voltage as a USB picks up voltage from the 5 Volt rail on a computer power supply. So - any device that uses a mini-USB plug for charging will expect to see 5 volts.

The differences come in the power supply current rating; most of my Motorola chargers put out between 450ma and 550ma - the Pearl charger puts out 750ma. There should be no problems using a Motorola charger with a BB - but it may not charge the device as quickly as the BB charger will.

It might not be advisable to go the other way (using a BB charger for a Motorola) as that could attempt to charge faster than the device expects.

Same here, Razr charger works on Pearl, but takes much longer and doesn't really get it to 100%.

BB charger doesn't work on the Razr / Slvr though.
