To all the people looking for a store near you with the phone in stock....Has anyone tried the Cingular/AT&T sales line? That is where I ordered mine yesterday afternoon and I got it today via UPS.

Why do you have to go to the store if you know you want it? Unless you are planning on checking it out before purchase via touch and feel just call them and order it- they can make better deals than the stores can anyway.

Good point johnfromphilly; however, i think a lot of people want it now instead of waiting. I can't blame 'em. i almost resorted to ordering the phone through telesales but i checked one more cingular store.... and there it was.

Well, after seeing one (they had five or so) at the Southcenter store on Strander Boulevard in Tukwila, I am sold.

I also managed to get together some additional scratch, so I've got $275 and the rest I think I can swing out of pocket on the upgrade price. LOL

I was trying to get onto OLAM, but it won't log in! I would rather just upgrade online if that means I can pay $200 out the door maybe ... I can't believe I'm going to sign a two-year for this thing.

Perhaps I will try calling. Meh. It's so weird that they're readily available here in the Seattle area yet folks on the east coast can't find them. Hmm.

I was the first one to pick up the Curve at the Little Falls, NJ store...called in at around 2pm, and he said they just got them in and he would hold one for me...picked it up..so far, so great!

I know what you are saying- but my point is that you can avoid running all around- if you would have ordered it you would have it already. I had my 8300 up and running by 1pm today and ordered it @ 3PM yesterday. That is 22 hour turnaround and no hassels. If I wanted to try it out I could def. see the advantage of going to the store but I just wanted it.

Went to two different stores today in Chicago: LaSalle and Monroe and Wells and Monroe.

The LaSalle store did not have any in. Said they would get their big shipment next week.

The Wells store (for those that don't know, this is located at the AT&T Corporate Center) said they only got 3 in today. All were gone by 3pm when I stopped by.

Default Cost for 8300

if you have a business plan (i.e., you work at a large corp so you get discounts) does that change things If I want to switch from an 8800 to 8300 without paying full price?

I decided to order my Curve from the web site since I am, er was, eligible for an upgrade and they give the $100 discount instantly. Made sense to me to go that route since I would have to get that via MIR if I'd gotten it in the store. First two year contract for me ever. Hope they'll let me upgrade again when they finally release a BB with 3G.

Ah, I am relieved. So very relieved to have my Curve coming. I can wait a little bit to get it here.

So, yeah, I'd agree with ordering it over the phone now or online. Save yourself the hassle of filling out the MIR. : )

I called 2 stores in the Rockford, IL area yesterday and both had just received 5 that day (and both still HAD those 5). I went and picked mine up and my sales associate said I was the first Curve to be sold. I think it would have saved a lot of frustration if all the press releases said availability would be Friday instead of Thursday as it seems the majority of the stock left the distributor and was in transit on Thursday with everything coming in more fully on Friday.

Default Picked 2 up in KC yesterday.

Called store in Shawnee and they originally said they didn't have any. Asked them if they had received their UPS shipment for the day and the guy goes back and checks and says he has 2. I ask him to hold one for me then drive like Andretti the 15mins from my office (had been crazily searching for the curve for 2 days).

Got to the store, decided to buy the other one too as a backup. First one was so solid that I ended up giving the second one away as a birthday present.

Best part is that because I paid retail, Cingular gave the unlock code to the person to whom I gave it and it is now running on T-Mobile.

Device was slow at first because it was low on memory (my guess), but if you go through their "setup wizard", it deletes all of the other languages that you don't need and now my Curve is flying.

Camera is surprisingly good. Can jam on the keyboard without errors unlike the 8800 and it feels unbelievably perfect in the hand and pocket.

Easily my favorite handset.

Greenwich,CT got 30 yesterday and them all within a few hours(I got 3 there, lucky I had them hold for me because I may not have gotten them if I hadn't). But they are the biggest retailer in CT so are getting steady supply and should get 30 more on monday. So any westchester or CT area people that is the place to go.

Also for those in NYC, Cingular store on 96th n bway received a shipment of 10 today. I was at the store at 5 PM and purchased the second one meaning they should have some left tomorrow. (I stayed there until the store closed).

Bluffton, SC store - said they were going to get it within the next month or so.
Hilton Head, SC store (less than 15 mins away from the Bluffton store) - had them in stock and that is where I bought mine today
