Post Hybrid Case for the BlackBerry 8800 - mini review...

Please Login to Remove!

Upon opening the box, you’re greeted with a nice clear plastic packaging. You can see right away you’ve ordered the right product, and one can hardly wait to open it...
Once opened, and you get your hands on it, you feel the quality you’ve paid for, worth every penny. The Hybrid case itself is in two parts. You have a black ‘back cover’...

...which is similar to Seidio’s trusty ‘back cover’ used for the Rubberized Bundle Case package. The other part to it, the front, is a clear, see-through cover...

The joints to hold the two together mesh VERY well. There is no ‘looseness’ to it, and no squeaking either. It’s an all round solid case, front and back...
Using the device (BlackBerry 8800) with the case on was/is a charm. It works well, for both big and small fingered users, like myself. When I first looked at the case on the BlackBerry, I was thinking to myself, the edge of the casing around the keyboard...

...(Q A ALT keys along with the P DEL & ENTER keys) would get in my way. But, no, surprise, surprise fingers and keys work like they were made for each other. Same with the centre keys - send / menu pearl / esc & end!
In closing, I have to say this is a solid case, with a smooth feel and touch to it, even when you have the BlackBerry to your ear. If you worried about finger prints, well, yes they do show on the back, BUT, one wipe with the palm of you hand, and they are gone!
Well done Seidio, it’s another winner! Thanks for letting us 'review' the Hybrid Case for the BlackBerry 8800
In addition, we have plenty other Seidio cases and accessories, here.

Wirelessly posted (NXTL7520: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Looks far superior to the default oem case, and would be ideal for the [rugged] crackberry addict!

I have this case also, and highly recommend it. The rubberized back is great, not too sticky, so you won't have any issues putting it in a pocket (something I was very worried about because of my rubber ipod case)

It doesn't really add much bulk at all, and the only thing you have to get used to is the plastic around the pearl. But, you adapt to that fairly quickly.

Overall, I'd recommend this as well.

just got my hybrid today and overall i like it, one issue though, the top left corner does not snap as all the other corners do. the lip on the rubber half does not seem to catch so it's not as tight as i believe it's suppose to be making the top very easy to pop off. the rest of the snaps are very tight and work well and the feel of the case is great, the keyboard still feels the same and i have pretty big fingers. no problems with the trackball either. i think i'll just call seidio and see if they can send me out another one to fix the one corner. i highly recommend

Please call 832-204-1118 and ask for Kelvin. He can troubleshoot for you and get you taken care of.

Thanks

I would also recommend the holster for the Hybrid case. I like the spring loaded clip on the top. However I would recommend practicing taking it out of the holster over a carpeted surface until you get the hang of it. It kind of requires you to pull the springy clip up with your middle finger, while using your first finger and thumb to catch the device.

Just got the Seidio Hybrid Slim Case for my 8800...and I agree, it's pretty great. I also got the holster for the skinned 8800, and I am not 100% sold on it yet. I am not sure I don't like the OEM leather pouch better...but the phone is almost too tight a fit in that case with the Hybrid case on it...even though Seidio claims only a little over 1mm extra thickness. Maybe it will fit better with use, I don't know.

At any rate, the Hybrid case fits well and looks great!!

I just got the Hybrid case + Holster combo and I really like the two combined. I was a bit disappointed that the front of the crystal case didn't protect the screen. Not that it claimed it would, but I couldn't tell from the pictures very well. Not a biggie, as I already have a BSE screen film on my 8800 anyways. And I don't have any issues accessing the side keys as some have claimed.

But be warned...I don't see the Hybird case fitting into the original OEM holster. It'll fit in there if you jam it in tightly, but it'll also take you 3 mins to get it back out again. I'm doing OK with the Seido holster and I really have to say that the whole setup feels lighter than my OEM holster+unskinned 8800.

Seidio or anyone else...

Will this holster - CRYSTAL / RUBBERIZED / SKIN CASE HOLSTER FOR 8800/8830 - HLBB8800ASC
work with the hybrid crystal case. I was definitely going to buy the hybrid case, but I just love having a holster also.

It says it will, but why don't you buy the Hybrid case + holster combo? I think you end up saving yourself $10. ($49.95 for the combo, or $29.95 for the Hybrid case + $29.95 for the Holster for Skinned 8800's).

Yes...that holster is made for all our skins and cases. And as Runamuck states below the combo is a better deal than buying them seperately.

Thanks

yah it fits very well and there are no issues accessing the phone from the holster. You should also order the clear static film for the screen on the 8800 to help keep it safe.

Just ordered the combo package, hopefully I won't have the problem with the upper left part of the hybrid case not fitting correctly. Sold me with the review!

i ordered the hybrid and had the problem with the left corner. i had crackberry send me another one, then also ordered the all black rubberized one as well. i sent the hybrid to my sister for her birthday and kept the all rubberized one. i LOVE this one, i like the look better. my sister said she didn't have any problems with the corner on the new piece. great case
