Cool What are your current Blackberry Numbers?

Please Login to Remove!

Wondering what everyone's current server and Blackberry Numbers are on here.

We're at over 2000, with 9 production servers and 2 test servers. In the next 6 months we're ramping up to deploy 4000 more blackberry's and 5 more servers atleast.

Just curious to see what other companies numbers are.

We've got 2 servers, 1 production. 1 development. Only 299 users on our production server right now, but adding more each day.

We've 2 BES servers...BES2.2 and BES4.0 Exchange. They average about 150 users each. We're a large company with feuding Directors/VPs, constant acquistions, hence the Domino and Exchange camps. We've been cutting back the user base on these servers to those that are essential and critical for Business Units.
I'm currently about to start a design recommendation for a client which will have ~14,000 BB users on Exchange. They currently have about 12-20 BES servers in the environment.

We currently run 1 BES 4.0 (Ex2K) w/ 250 users. The server is a dual 1.4Ghz with 1GB ram.

How many users should I expect get on this server?

One of our clients has several BESX4.0 running very close to 2000 users. I won't know until I get in there to determine what's actually in place.

Its not about the numbers of users anyone can put up here but it is how good you are as an admin and finding the answers / troubleshooting your handheld and or server issue.

Domino or Exchange environment?

Running BES 4.01 with about 80 users. It's worth mentioning that we previously had a small PC-class machine running BES 3.6 with 40 users. It kept up fine for nearly a year, then starting failing once we reached 45 users. It was a Celeron 1Ghz w/1GB RAM. The new server-class box is Xeon 3Ghz w/2GB RAM and dual 72GB HDDs. So far, it doesn't seem to even break a sweat. Still running MSDE.

1 BES (single instance) (3.6.2) with 1,000 users running on a PIII 1.4GHz, 1GB RAM. A little msg latency during heavy e-mail hours but nothing major. Looking to upgrade H/W then S/W.

6 Live BES all 3.6.3 (mainly DELL 2550's) 4 BES Admin accounts on 3 exchange servers maintained by our mail team.
2 Standby/Test servers (1 HP & 1 DELL GX150 desktop - yes, it works)
2161 users scattered throughout depending on their exchange server location.
60 exchanges servers (NT4 and 2K) and growing.
10 domains (NT and 2K) and growing.
1 SQL 2KSP3 Server which has a maintenance plan, copies from D: drive to another server every night that is then backed up to tape ..>!!!!! Phew!

A network nightmare? You bet!!!! I have never had such a problem than this in my life. When a change is made in one place and Blackberry doesn't work - users think it's all down to the BES - USERS NEED EDUCATING!!!! It is NOT!
I hate local IT teams......Well I am glad that is off my chest.
