Default Verizon 8830 Voice Dialing...Speaker???

Please Login to Remove!

Just got an 8830 on Verizon. With my old cell phone, I became completely reliant on Voice Dialing. I was happy to see the 8830 had the same option.

When ever I use the convenience key or select Voice Dialing from the menu, however, all the prompts come over the speaker phone. It does this even when the phone is NOT in speaker phone mode. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the voice dialing prompts to NOT be on speaker phone.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I do not think it is possible. You can turn off the audio prompts though.

Thanks for the response. It's seems ridiculous, but that's what I feared. It amazes me I can't pick up my phone and tell it who to dial without everyone in the vicinity hearing. I may try and turn off the prompts...

Hi,

My first post.

I use a Motorola HS850 BT headset. If I push the call button on it, it initiates voice calling through the headset. It stopped working and I had to take the battery out and it works again. That is why I was reading this thread to see if anyone else had this experience. Seems like the 8830 is pretty buggy.

I also had this same thing happen but didn't equate the fact that I'd removed the battery to the reason the headset was working correctly again. Not sure what caused it but, in the week or so since it began working again, I haven't had any other issues.
