Default T-Mobile Tethering Charges Clarification

Please Login to Remove!

Hello people, I haven't been on the forums as much lately due to work and not having that much time. I have done some quick searches but I haven't found out if any of them were current. I'm going to take a trip to San Francisco in a few days and I need to find out if the tethering for T-Mobile still free, I could never be too safe about this, since some Cingular/AT&T people have found out that they were able to track you down. Sorry for the waste of making another thread but I just wanted to find out, thank you.

Tethering on the TMo is still free... at least, on this board, there has no reported charging for such.

Have a good trip.

Still free with the unlimited data plan and if you call customer service they will even walk you through the setup process step by step

I tether all the time, just got my bill, 153.86MB used, $0 charge.

This is of course other than the $19.99 for the unlimited data.

Tethering has always been free for me, as well. It's not free when roaming internationally, though. That could get quite expensive.

For an additional $20/month, you get the unlimited tethering for international roaming. By the way, this $20 you can stop it at anytime, no contract, therefore you can only take this option when you know you are traveling abroad.

Are you sure you can get unlimited tethering for international roaming? I only see "BlackBerry Unlimited International E-mail ($19.99)" on my TMO online account.

I think it's s been discussed many times before....You might be able to get away with it overseas, but it's not official.

Personally i don't have the service but a friend of mine has it since he travels a lot and roams internationally. At one point i was thinking subscriing to the service and use it in France where i live currently, and to which it will end up costing me less then what i'm paying now with Orange France with 25MB limits. The only problem is to have to carry 2 phones, one for the blackberry usage and the other for voice, unless of course i find a way to install 2 SIM card in one phone which is not possible now.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

All of my lines have the bb international option. Strangely, some get billed for gprs roaming while tethering and others don't. Is there any rhyme or reason to this?

Guys,
What I have with Tmobile is -> " BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on ($19.99) " + my voice plan.
I will still not incur any data charge for thethering. right??

Just wanted to confirm if that is same as a t-Mobile unlimited data plan.

Thanks

atl, you will be fine. If you tether internationally, you would incur additional charges.
