My 8800 has NO option to create SMS text. I usually just hit OPTIONS from the contact list, then SMS USER.. theres no option. I go to my SMS inbox.. hit options.. cannot create SMS message... I CANT TEXT.. whats going on??

You may want to try and delete all your service books and then resend them via your BIS account. Also, try pulling the battery for about 10 seconds as well.

Tried both.. still no SMS option. Even called T-Mobile and have them "Reset me" on their system.

Actually I logged into TMobile and clicked on "send service books..." how do i delete them? Ill try and figure it out..

I don't think service books are the issue. Is your 8800 connected to a corporate BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server?) If so, your company may restrict SMS use. If not, did you purchase the 8800 used or new? If used, it's possible that it has leftover IT policy on it from a previous BES preventing SMS use.

PS RELOADING the OS or "WIPE HANDHELD" was NOT necessary. I simply modified the registry (per the instructions), loaded policy.bin into the BB directory on the computer's HDD, and connected to DM. I'm just surprised SIMPLY connecting to DM via USB removed the policy from the phone... how? I didn't even have to take any action.
