Default Repair and protect scratched 8830 screen

Please Login to Remove!

I just finished polishing my scratched 8830 screen with applesauce and applying a Best Skins Ever screen protector.

I must say ... I am glad I did.

I had some a few annoyingly scratches that I was able to nearly polish out with applesauce. After 30 minutes of polishing, my impatient got the better of me and I decided to go ahead and apply the BSE screen protector. The protector was a perfect fit for my 8830 and went on very easily. Just make sure you remove all the polish and keep the screen free of dust.

I love the result. Best 4.99 I spent so far on my BB. Best part is that the screen protector hides the scratches I could not polish out.

Apple sauce? Yum!

Er, wait, you're using it to polish the screen?

I've heard about removing carrier logos with sugar cubes, pennies, and toothpaste, but this is new.

What brand of apple sauce? With or without sugar added?

Looks like an interesting product. It's marketed as a plastic polish, though, and my Pearl has a glass screen. Does the 8830 have a glass or plastic screen?

Yes, interesting question, I'd like to know too. Anyone know if the 8830 screen is plastic or glass? Thanks!

I'd guess plastic as you'll need a screen protector for it to keep it from scratching...

Excellent point! I didn't even think of that, it must be plastic.
