Default does wiping a corporate phone disconnect email service?

Please Login to Remove!

hey all, i'm new to this site, because i'm sort of new to the whold pda world. what i'm wondering is, if i'm on my corporate blackberry (8700), and i wipe it by typing in the wrong password 10 times, will i still be connected to the work email? i know i'll probably lose any old saved messages, but i'm wondering if i'll still receive NEW messages---or if i'll be disconnected from the email service. i'm on vacation and don't feel like going through the hassle in my downtime to retrieve my password (i didn't set it; IT did for me, and i left it in the office), so i'm willing to wipe it since i don't have a lot of data on it yet, but i do need to remain on email while away. thanks for anything anyone may know about this!

Yes, wiping it removes the BES connection.

Nope, Desktop Manager prompts for password before you can do anything.

They can give you a new EA password and you can perform an Enterprise Activation wirelessly. You'd still need to make sure that you know what your password is (though I don't think your BB password is stored on the BES so I think you could choose a new one) as the password lock would still be active.

But does wiping remove the IT Policies associated with BES?

I can say that with utmost confidence. Ugh.

No. Policy is there to stay.

It can be removed by placing a "blank" policy on the device.

Your BES admin sets up the password on your account for you to type into the Enterprise Activation screen. It can only be used once and expires after a certain amount of time (set by the BES admin.)
