Default 8800 BES sync issue

Please Login to Remove!

I've posted yesterday about replacing a lost 8800, and now that I've got it and set a new enterprise activation password, and went through the wizard on the device, and the device did it's initial sync and all looks good.... it now hasn't synced up for a half hour!!! I've sent email to it and from it.. still nothing. Is there a way I can force it to sync? Is there a setting that could be preventing it from syncing? Sending and recieving and email should be instant... I'm stumped.
Thanks

If all you did was set an activation password on the server, the old PIN is still there. BES isn't smart enough to pick up the new PIN from the new device.
What I'd do: remove the entry for the person from BES; readd them. Set the actpass and enterprise activate again. Should work for ya.

According to my previous post on the senario
http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-...store-bes.html
They said all I have to do is the password from BES and E.activation on the device?!.... It sync fine initially, so why would it stop doing so? Also, I noticed that when I got the new device up and running the signal (att) read as EDGE in all caps, but now that it's not syncing the signal is edge in lower case,... could that be an issue? (att asked me if it was in uppercase when I activated the phone...).

Lowercase edge is an issue. You don't have coverage, dude! Hard reset the device and see if it gets restored. If not, get on the phone with them and say, "Where's my EDGE!?"

It does sound like you have service issue, but even lower case edge (GPRS), you still have data service. As long as it doesn't just say GSM, or have the red x, you should be syncing OTA. Double check that your service is in order. I would check the logs for any errors, strange activity or lack thereof. if it still doesn't work, wipe it and re-activate.

Confirmed... att had issues, and the 8800 would not connect to EDGE, only GSM or edge. Rebooting or turning off/on the network connection didn't work... had to pull the battery, then it came up fine! What's up with att lately?...

Thanks for all your help on the issue!
