Default rebooting? forced updates?

Please Login to Remove!

I noticed my 8320 has automatically rebooted itself twice now. Only noticed it becuase my phone lit up for no reason. Before the reboot, I saw a white screen with the spinning hour glass, followed by the T-Mo screen, and then something about security.

Is T-Mo sending out forced updates?

The devices do not receive updates. Only you can perform an OS update using your PC and a data cable. Sounds like the device may be defective. If you are in warranty....take a trip to the store and get it swapped. Back it up first using the desktop manager and then when you get the new device restore it!

Devices with the 4.3 OS will do wireless updates. But I doubt he has 4.3. I have never seen a BB do this ... so you are probably right. I think he should take the unit back and get a new one.

4.3 and higher....REALLY?!?! Wow, that's interesting. Will it notify you that there is any update and you have the option to install now or later or does it just attack your BB? This might be bad!

I don't know. Do a google search for blackberry 4.3 screenshots. There is one screenshot of one of the settings screens that has an automatic OTA update setting. Beyond the shot, and an article I read, all I know is that it is capable of OTA updates. Beyond that I do not know much of anything else.

4.3 is not out yet. There has just been leaked information, but rumor is its supposed to be out October-November. But only time will tell.

Repeat: 4.3 is not out yet. Everything about it is speculation UNTIL IT GETS RELEASED.

4.3 is not out yet.

Auto Reboot with 4.2 = you need a replacement phone, they shouldnt have a problem with replacing it immediately.
