I think the expectation is that OS 4.3 will bring video recording to most older models except the original Pearl. The newer 8120 and 8130 will have it, though.

We're not sure if the original pearl has the capability. It may have the right hardware, we just need to wait until 4.3 comes out to confirm anything.

any idea when that new OS comes out? I mean, I know the latest one just came out this last month and all... but just curious

The Verizon 8130 ship with RIM OS v4.3.0.60 and definatley has Voice Note Recorder and Video Camera icons on the home screen and they do work... (Video Camera says I need a MicroSD card :( )

Since the Telus 8130 is shipping with RIM OS v4.3.0.65, I'm assuming it is the same.
