updated to 4.2 no issues, but I hate the themes.. I was using one of RIM's themes with 4.1 which I liked.. trying to see if i can find something similar..

Not crazy about single browser icon, have to switch back and forth, in order to test MDS browser.

I do like level 1 messages, are now bolded in RED when received.. nice.

In fact I am connected now and sending this over that connection!!! I love it!!!
Yes! I did the upgrade on my 8703e w/ BES and bluetooth modem connects to my MacBook Pro flawlessly.

Nice to see it finally released. I too had an 8703 and was waiting for this to come out. Now I have an 8830 so it's not a big deal anymore for me, but I know friends who will definitely be upgrading!

Default Alltel releases 4.2 for 8703e

Looks like Alltel is now officially supporting V4.2 for 8703e :

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...03923A1C591DB4

Also see that they have Desktop Manager V4.3. Anyone know what this provides over V4.2?

I wonder why some people are having major problems after the upgrade and others are not... anyone have thoughts on that? Could it be due to incompatible 3rd party apps, or themes, or ? Now that I have 4.1 on my PC (in case I need to revert to it), I'll try the upgrade.

looks like the Alltel is the same. I've noticed significant lag with my HH at times ... just actually wigged out and after a hard reset it was happy as a clam. I only have a few extra apps installed so I doubt its them (especially as none of them were running).

Problem FIXED!

Hey fellas - after hours of reinstalling my OS and getting error 529 (horrible!!) I finally found out that the OS reinstall had nothing to do with this problem because it was still happening afterwards. This is what worked for me. Under Phone Options - Use "1" for National Dialing was set to 'Yes' for me. I switched this to 'no' and I started to get the Caller ID with no problems. Please let me know if this worked for the people who had the problem I had (mentioned above on a previous post from me) thanks for all the help fellas -

ok so my only complaint, not major though, is that it's more sluggish.. other than that it's ok.

if you have a bluetooth headset... try switching back and forth from handset to headset... try even getting the pull down menu... to turn off or on mute.. there is a noticeable delay. I was on a conference call this morning and while driving I have it on mute... even clicking on the thumb wheel to turn off mute.. it was slow.. much slower than 4.1 this is just one example.
