Default Blackberry Connect on XDAii

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Just trying to get an XDA2 working with Blackberry Connect on BES.

The XDA2 is working fine in itself, it shows a data connection, has a PIN and an IP Address, and I can send a PIN to PIN message to the device. However I cannot get it working with the BES/Desktop Software.

I have followed the instructions, several times, to the letter and yet every time the BBConfig software simply says "Not Configured" and the 'Connect' button is greyed out.

I've tried wiping the XDA2 and reinstalling the ROM, putting all the software on a fresh machine, setting up a brand new user. Same issue.

I'm tearing my hair out now because I had this working once before a couple of months ago and I'm doing nothing different this time, it just doesn't work and I'm stumped as to why.

Any ideas?

Yes the Sx66, iMate PDA 2K, etc.. supports BBConnect. I verified this as they had one @ the Blackberry booth @ TechED.

I have version 1.2 does anyone know where version 2.o is?

I have also had the same experience where the connect button does not appear, I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that teh IMEI did not match the blackbberry unit in BES. Can you confirm this or give any insight to this?

Where did you get the BBConnect software from for your XDA? I have an XDA II mini and want to use this.

Kna,

Similar problem but on my Blackberry Config App the connect but is available. However, when you click it I get a pop…saying that the hand set ahs been disconnected from the computer….

This actual is not the case as active sync is running and is happily connected….

Can you suggest anything to get my xda connected….

Thanks in advance….

I have no explanation as to why this happens but I know how to get around it. If your connect button remains 'greyed out' after connecting your device do the following :

1. Disconnect device from PC
2. Close & then restart the BB Connect software
3. Reconnect your device.
4. The connect button should now be highlighted.

It must me a quirk with the software but following the above always resolves the issue for me.
