What is the latest? Verizon rep that delivered our new BES 8830s said GPS should work if I get Google Maps downloaded. Did that today (not crazy about new GMM beta), but only the triangulation GPS seems to be functioning.

Should I be able to use GPS on this device, or is it locked down except for their nav program? Thanks....Jeff.

Internal GPS on the Verizon 8830 is locked for use with only VZnavigator.

Anyway, that sucks that even the reps go this far to make a sale. I don't understand why it's so hard for the fed government to force these companies to do things the right way. I say you audit them. LOL However, speak with your IT department or whoever was responsible for the purchase. If he did blatantly lie (he probably won't admit to it unless he's on a recording) a big stink form a federal branch would certainly have more effect then from the private sector.... maybe. ;)
