My pain is about as bad as your's when I got started w/ Sprint. I had my BB nearly a week before I could use it. Granted, it wasn't entirely Sprint's fault, but nonetheless, I had a phone I couldn't use.

I feel your pain... and believe you will succeed _eventually_. Just hang in there!

They finally got it to work... yeah!!! 6 full days!! and my 8830 is now configured to work!!

Wouldn't have been so bad if I weren't paying $500 for the phone and $40 more per month in addition to my voice plan...

Also - no explanation was given as to why my phone wouldn't accept the data plan. Other than the system was slow... u think ;

By the way - I access my work email thru Outlook web access. Is this related in anyway to having an enterprise server connection? If not I will remve this porting from my data plan

thoughts?

This stuff is all new to me... What data plan do you all have?

If you are not having your work emails delivered directly to your phone, then you're not using BES (BB Enterprise Server). Since you say you are using OWA, I suspect you are not using BES. And if you're not using BES, then many here, myself included, prefer the $30 Blackberry Power Pack plan which includes BIS, unlimited text, unlimited data, and sprint navigation.

If you don't want/need the texting & navigation, but do use your phone as a modem, then it is cheaper to keep the $40 data plan (it's $15 extra on the BBPP, bringing the total cost to $45 for that option).

Not necessarily. You need the Enterprise data plan if you use a BES. How you access your email on your PC doesn't matter -- it's a question of how your Blackberry accesses your email. Who is responsible for administering your email account/server? You could ask them.
