If you could create any app for a BB what would it be?
Please Login to Remove!
Hey,
Question if you could create any type of application for your BB what would it be? Could be anything realistic. I know there are a lot of cool apps out there like TeleNAV with the GPS it may just be that next "killer app" what do you guys think? If you could make your BB do anything what would it be?
I'm thinking of ideas to build the next killer app for the BB platform. ![Cool](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

I would build a GPS tracking system that reads either from an internal or BT GPS receiver and transmits data back to a base server, which can then map the breadcrumbs over a google maps webpage.
Something like this probably exists in some form or another, I would love something like this to track my bike rides, expeditions etc.
It would be nice to do something like this on a self contained device like a 8310.

"GPS Locations"
Basically it shows relative locations of spots I add to list. It can be just spots on colored background, with names of location, and the current location. It will be nice for quick "find a way back" thing, as well as other uses. It should have ability for user to add locations manually.
Oh yes and it should have "Add the location I am at now" option.
Maybe also export location so it can be emailed to other users?

Either SplashMoney-like program for BB.
Something like Agendus/Datebk for BB.

My BlackBerry 8300 Curve from Telstra Australia does that natively, but only with text messages...
As for a feature I'd like to see, how about BlackBerry Maps maps - for AUSTRALIA?
We seem to be the only country that misses out!
After all, it's easiest to finish a project you've already started...

A plug-in like Google Sync, but for Exchange calendars. This is for those with a personal BB and BIS that want to sync with their work's Exchange calendar, but not connect through their work's BES. I don't want IT Policies on my personal phone.

there are free plugins that integrate with Outlook to push your calendar to gcal. look for gsyncit online. I have mine on the free version and works great for going from Outlook linked with Exchange to Google Calendar to BB and back.

The biggest thing I miss from the Sidekick is the Desktop Interface, i.e., web-based mirror of the PIM apps. Unyverse is a step toward this, but I'd love to see someone do the whole deal.

Threaded SMS conversationa ala the Treo.
Improved calendar view to include a week-at-a-glance view like the old paper datebooks or DateBk5 on the Treo.
An app to automatically re-task the NSA's sattelites to watch my house while I'm on vacation. ![Cool](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

What does everyone keep saying "threaded SMS conversations like the Treo"?
The BlackBerry 8300 Curve (running BlackBerry OS 4.2) DOES THIS!

Not the same. As you respond to a text message on a Blackberry it keeps quoting the entire conversation like the Treo does, but you'll notice each reply is a separate message in your mailbox. With the Palm OS you have one message only, and it contains the entire conversation. Easier to keep, archive, and search.

Ah, so very similar, but not quite the same...
Sounds like a good idea though, and I'm up for that being added to the BlackBerry OS.

Quicken (sync) for Blackberry and a profile switcher that would change from vibrate to loud or normal when the device is plugged into a power source like BBLight does for the display.
