Default BES 4.1.3 and Exchange 2007

Please Login to Remove!

We are moving to Exchange 2007 and do not plan to have any Public Folders. That means that we will upgrade our Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 and no PF stores at all. I heard BES uses a (legacy) MAPI client which requires a Public Folder for connection. Is that true? Is that a workaround? Do we need to upgrade to BES 4.5? We don't have a upgrade plan yet.

Thanks.

If the BlackBerry Services are mission critical, I would suggest that you hold off on the Exchange upgrade until 4.1.5 has been released. If you *have* to upgrade, have a look at:

we have already set up a Exchange 2007 mailbox server into our Exchange 2003 Org and my mailbox is on the Exchange 2007 server. Our BES 4.1.3 works. We associated a Public Folder on Exchange 2003 server to the mailbox database on Exchange 2007. What I want to find out is if existing BES 4.1.3 can work without Public Folder. Since BES uses MAPI connection to Exchange mailboxes I read somewhere that I need to remove the Exchange 2003 ESM and install a new version of MAPI CDO on it. Just wondering with this new MAPI CDO whether it still needs a PF for connection, like the legacy MAPI client?
