Well I am happy to tell everyone that I finally made it to an AT&T store today. I got a curve to try out, I had them give me any number and if I like it I will port my number over to them. I will give it a good work out over the next couple of weeks and let everyone know what I think.

Thank you for all your advice. Let the fun begin!!

If you TRUELY like the service and feel its on par or better, then cancel the new number and THEN port your old number from VZW and sign up for a new contract. This way, just in case you don't like the service, you won't lose your old number and still be with VZW. The only thing you pay is the $35 activation charge and the time you're with ATT which will be prorated which is worth the price for a test drive.
exactly what i did

Just a possible minor factor, you can install whatever GPS software, BB Maps, Google, TeleNav, you want on the AT&T 8310 curve. I think Verizon restricts usage of GPS to their own service

I like my 8320 with T-Mobile USA, No GPS but I would rather use the one in the Bimmer anywas, I do love the wifi option and the unlimited calling part.

EJ,

I have a Seidio case and I swear by it!

If you work outside though, you may want to look into the OtterBox. They are Much more rugged and designed for people who work in harsh environments. My brother has one and loves it

Liquid,

Best of luck! I think you are going about this the correct way.
I just wanted to let you know that I left AT&T last Novermber after many years with them (Cingular). The only reason why I left was call quality. Sure, I never had a dropped call (well sometimes) but the thing that I HATED was the fact that most every conversation was "choppy". Like every 3rd word was dropped out. I had been with Cingular when they were still on the TDMA towers / equipment. Everything was crystal clear back then, when they switched to GSM I got the "GAIT" phone, and thats when my troubles started with call quality "sorry, what did you say?" . . . .
Finally after using my friends VZN cell I was amazed at what a normal cell phone call is supposed to be like, completely clear, how novel!

I hope you find the right service / phone for yourself. I'm sure you'll always have the most "bars".
I dont like the fact that I gave up my pearl but I'm learning to live without it.

Regards
