Default Black Berry 8310 Not Activating

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

I have a Black Berry 8310

Carrier is Cingular

I had to register the routing tables in order to see the Enterprise Activation option. After doing so when I try and activate the devices it just sits there and does nothing. I have everything setup like normal in our Enterprise server, it all looks like it should work but it does not. Does it have something to do with the routing tables?

can you send a pin message to the device?

also do you have any rules setup in outlook that would delete the activation email? when you start an activation it send an email to the inbox of the user. if that message gets moved or deleted the ea will fail.

you also need to make sure ur using the users primary SMTP that the BES recognizes. some people have multiple addresses but the bes only recognizes and will activate one, so check to make sure youre using the one the bes sees.

We don't send out emails. I have activated phones for users that have not received emails. I am also using the correct SMTP. I don't know man, I only seem to have this problem with phones that make you Register the routing tables before you can see the EA option.

That's odd. It should always be under Options->Advanced Options regardless of the status of the icon on the home screen.

I had this same problem today. I wiped my BB using javaloader - then reinstalled my OS. No EA under options, and ATT tried unsucessfully to resend service books. Annyoingly, my desktop manager tried to restore/reactivate and kept screwing it up. I am wiping clean again as we speak to see whats up. any thoughts?

I suggest performing a security wipe which is under Options -> Security Options -> General Settings -> click the wheel and select "Wipe Handheld." Afterward you must set the date/time and timezone. Then try it again.

I have already wiped it, and tried again. Each time I still have to register the stupid tables in order for me to see the EA option.

As user RadHaz75 was discussing, please try sending a PIN message to/from the handheld. We need to make sure that the handheld is able to talk on the BlackBerry network. If that works, and if you have access, try activating this handheld with another mailbox.

Wipe the device, remove from BES, Add to BES, disable PIM, generate activation password, activate device. When device has completed activation, add each PIM option once at a time with Address book/Memos and Tasks being last.

The activation email would delete itself very fast when activating, so you might not even see it, but if you are activating on BES, it has to be there. Also I'd make sure that you have the correct data plan, if it is an AT&T device, they have two diffrent data plans, one does not allow EA. Also has the password expired? And when the activation does not go through, what does it tell you for an error?
