FWIW that is what I was told, but we shall see....
It will not have Direct Connect....

It doesnt support the network that the "Direct Connect" runs on. the device is not iDEN capable.

The 8330 Curve will not be Direct Connect capable.

Very soon there will be CDMA devices with Direct Connect (High Performance Push-to-talk) that will connect with Legacy iDEN Direct Connect devices, but these will not initially be PDA's. No. I am not talking about ReadyLink.

The next generation PTT capable BlackBerry will be iDEN-only.

Good day folks.

So, it either comes out next week or it is delayed,
and it either will or will not have Direct Connect.

All depends who you ask.

ReadyLink is no more. The new system is not ReadyLink.

True dat.

One thing that we will see is that it will be called Direct Connect regardless of whether it is going over iDEN or Sprint CDMA.

Default Sprint Retention swears 8330 will be released 4/20

I just got off the phone with retention and they repeatedly claimed it will be released 4/20, that the only slip was from 4/17 to 4/20. My local store says they "heard" midsummer. I told Retention that, but they looked again and said, "no, this is confirmed, it will be 4/20."

Although the sprint website seems to show the black one
do you have a link where is shows this?

I think we will all find out on Sunday. I will be calling telesales just in case it . I have heard rumors of a staged roll out due to demand so we will see.

trying to be patient about it. i will have to wait until it hits ebay as i am not due for an upgrade and paying full price is not an option, unless it ends up being overpriced like the iphone was.

I just ain't waiting!

Why do people insist on lying to customers?
They are correct....according to "The Sprint Store" website the launch won't be until 06.01.08

I'm upset too, I have a Palm Treo 700p & 700wx....wanting to try something new.

Here's the link Welcome to TheSprintStore

I am definitely excited now....

I think I read on another thread that if we want to get the phones the quickest, then we need to purchase from TheSprintStore....

I wonder how soon stores will get them....hmmm....now the question is, should I ship to home or work....if it comes on the weekend I would be sooooo but if it comes to my house, & requires a signature I'd be equally

Either way, I think I need to go ahead & get my order in....thanks for the update!!!!

Looks like good news indeed!

However, I'll believe it on May 7th.
