You can't beat the DRM on iTunes purchased songs via drag-n-drop...there are options out there to create a DRM-free copy of iTunes songs, but I'm not aware of anything in the BB DM/Roxio or on the Pearl that will do that.

Has anyone figured out a way around this? After I splurged on an 8GB card, it's really driving me nuts. Unfortunately, Dollar 5's media player is no good to me, and Flipside apparently can't fast forward or rewind. I see Flipside more as a great program if you only have 10 albums or so that you switch out.

I've deleted all the thumbs and .dat files out of the blackberry, but there are still many missing artists.

There has got to be a way to play all of the music on the card. Any chance I can resurrect this discussion?

Thanks all.

I'm have the same problem with a 4GB card where my 8130 does not see all the songs that I dragged onto the media card. After waiting about 5 minutes the BB updates the list and all is well.

However, once the BB timeouts and after I enter my security password to get back in, the BB has to re-read this whole list to see the songs once again. That's a real pain.
This also happens if I were to manually lock the BB and then use my password to log back into it.

Anyone else having this problem with a password protected BB?

I loaded approximately 1800 songs, all mp3, all 128 kbps, in the music folder vis-a-vis a USB adapter. Afterward, the device shows the correct amount of memory used/available and there is no indication of any problems.

The BB media player will not list all of the tracks, however. I would estimate it reads one-half to two-thirds and then just ignores the rest. The FlipSide software recognizes and plays each and every song on the card (including those not read by the BB media player).

I am thinking that there is a number of tracks limitation in the BB media player. Has anyone seen this issue? If not, I would appreciate any suggestions or troubleshooting advice you may have. Thank you.
I have opened a support call with RIM on this bug. It is call #4959865 if anyone else wants to call in to RIM and report this problem too, that may help get them to take it seriously. You may have to call your service provider first before they will put you through to RIM.

Great tip, thanks!

I have been able to get the 8130 to recognize up to 905 songs out of the 925 or so that are on my card.

The song file limitation problem goes away when you upgrade to 4.5.

As far as your protected iTunes songs, burn them to CD, then re-rip the CD back into iTunes. Then they'll be unprotected and you can copy them over to your Berry.

I have a 8gb, I want a 16gb microsd.

When I used 4.3 it would take its time building the music database. if i were to play a song before it finished searching it would stop building the database and I had to do a battery pull to get it back to searching again and wait for it to finish.

4.5 fixes these problems

Yup - for me that is the single most important bug fix in 4.5.

Yup - not my issue, though - I was responding to another person's question.
