I'm trying to implement some custom rules to work with my in-house software. I added a rule into my software like this (not literally):
com.mydomain.myapp.my_thing
com.mydomain.myapp.my_other_thing
Then our BES admin tried to control these rules using IT Policy. He added com.mydomain.myapp.my_thing as type Integer, range 0-3600, value 60, and applied the policy to a single handheld for testing. The BES logged this error:
Code:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BlackBerry Policy Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 20000
Date: 6/6/2005
Time: 4:23:23 PM
User: N/A
Computer: [ed]
Description:
{user@domain.com, PIN:CAFEBABE,
ID:25}RequestHandler::HandleITADMINDataCommand - ITPolicy Fail Ack for
the command SET_IT_POLICY_COMMAND - Processing packet, Tag=249460
We get this for any custom rule we add, even though the Berry shows the IT Policy timestamp updating.
I tried making a test rule with no special charaters (MyTestRule), but the value still doesn't come through.
Has anyone tried implementing custom local rules like this? TSupport is stonewalling me unless I upgrade to Tx5, which just is not going to happen.
