So, pardon my ignorance here, but why does Unite! put a policy on against browser use? I don't get it. Is there somewhere in the software to enable browser use for the users?

yea when you have the BB under Unite! you can restrict browser, calls, everything pretty much BES can... if people are having issues with browsing what you need to do is launch Unite! agian plug the BB in, open the user in unite! and make sure the settings for the browser are on, and then wait for the enterprise registration to finish, reboot device via battery pull and all should work

exactly what Cory said. It defaults to OFF for the browser but can easily be changed.

That's what I thought. Everyone is installing this without reading any documentation and then complaining when it does something they don't like.

I suppose a guide posted as a sticky here the Unite! forum would be a good thing. However, c'mon folks...RTFM if you're going to install this. My $.02.

I installed it and immediately uninstalled it after reading this, now I'm stuck with this "Unite" folder on my device...any suggestions of how to remove it? I know I could hide it, but I also hide my msg, sms, and other email folders to keep "prying eyes" from seeing anything.

I'm pretty sure mine defaulted to allowing all the features. Every box was checked for all users when Unite first started. The unite software also wouldn't allow my phone to sync notes, tasks or calendar either. All it would allow me to sync was contacts. I don't know that would be the default setting, just doesn't make any sense.

Corey, my browser was enabled with unite but it still wouldn't let me use it, if it disabled it, then re enabled it it would work for a little bit then automatically go back to not working

I was just looking at the Unite! "for the family" use. They make it sound like it is a great thing for family and friends but its really the one with the software is incontrol. Hopefully you dont get mad at anyone in the family and disconnect them or wipe their device for spite...

i agree with you! i lucked up and got a new phone when it screwed my it policies up. im glad my 30 day exchange was still good. i tried fixing the problem by calling tech support and they told me i had to wait over the weekend before they can send me some new it policies. so i went back to at&t and exchanged it. one thing i do notice; you have to have wifi to access files from your phone. i got rid of my 8320 and went back to at&t. guess i have to wait for the bold to get wifi. im not going to take a chance with unite anymore.

Sounds like Unite! really needs to have a 'revert' option built-in that allows the old IT policies to be pushed to the phones.
