Default 8820 vs. 8320 - Comparison

Please Login to Remove!

Hey,

i am interested in buying the 8820 Blackberry, but i'm still not sure, whether to take the 8320 Curve or the 8820.

The only advantages of the 8320 in comparison to 8820 are
- the 2.0 megapixel camera
- the better looking ;)
- the 3,5mm audio-in for normal headsets

right?

Are these the only advantages? If yes, i dont see any reason to buy the Curve 8320, when the 8820 offers the same + GPS Receiver.

The interface of both is definitely the same, right?

Hope you can help me in my buying decision.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Well it really depends ... I really like the camera (even though the pics aren't that great) they allow me to take some good funny pictures on the go. Also, I like the body of the 83XX, and I've had the 88XX series and I don't like the keyboard as much as I do like the 8300... That's just in my personal opinion. I guess it really depends on each persons desires.

I love my 8830 keyboard. My only problem with this phone is no camera, but I can live without it. If it had a camera, this would probably be the perfect phone for me =]

It basically comes down to what keyboard you like and whether you want built in GPS or built in camera. Personally, I like the camera, and the form factor of the 8320 and just use a BT GPS puck when I want GPS.

Nobody is going to be able to decide for you. It's purely a personal decision.

My advice is to go into a store and play with both phones. That'll help you decide since as JC said, it's purely a personal choice. But actually seeing the devices up close might make your decision even easier.

I like the 8830 keyboard and never use the camera. So it's the 8830 for me. I changed the case from Verizon Silver to Black and the feel of the keyboard is way better.

Thanks so far for your helping answers!

So just to be sure for the last time: There is NO difference in handling the phone (i mean the interface, design of the menu etc.) ?

so i will prefer the gps 8820 because i dont really need a cam.

does the curve have a keyboard which has light in the dark?

can both devices be used with Instant Messengers like LiveMessenger and GoogleTalk ?

Default Broke my BB curve 8320

About a month ago I bought my first BB and instantly fell in love with it. My carrier is T-mobile so being that had been a customer for 2 years they sold me one for 372 dollars after taxes. I thought it was expensive but of course a bb is. Anyway the other day I went to look at the time and I dropped it on the street on one of those metal doors that go into the basement of a store. It was upside down with the battery cover next to it when I picked it up there was a big crack on the right side of the screen going all the way down on top of that I had purchased a 2GB media card for 48 dollars on the same day I got my bb now it won't read the media card I took it out and put it back in like 30 times same thing, it won't read it. I call t-mobile and the say the best they can do is take 100 dollars off for being a 2 year customer still totaling 367 dollars plus tax that's basically what I paid before sucks man!!!!! I don't know what to do and I can't find a number to connect me directly to the main bb company I looked everywhere I couldn't even find an email for them...my title shuold have been " A great loss"

Sorry you couldn't get two $100+ discounts in a row....that's crazy ;)

Anyways, I really feel like the 8800 and 8820 are the better BlackBerry devices. I still have an 8310 on my second line and feel like it splits the difference between the 8820 and the 8320 pretty well for me...but if there was an 8820 version with a camera then it would be my choice.
