I tried both zen themes and the vib and ring still turns off if the pearl is moved. I even tried moving it during different parts of the ring (while it if vibrating or waiting until it starts sounding) and still had the same results.

Everyone needs to call Blackberry and report this. I just did and they tested it and said it will mute when they move the pearl but as soon as they stop moving it the phone will ring again. They said they will check to see if it is being reported.

Ditto (at least on the muting part).

I just called RIM tech support too. They told me that I should notify T-Mobile, because they are the ones who can address this by requesting a fix from RIM.

I just called T-Mobile (I hadn't noticed this problem before I read about it here, but it explains why I never seem to hear the phone ringing when it's in my pocket). They said that they had no information about this problem so far, no "Known Issues" for this phone ... so could everybody please call in and report the issue so we can get a fix posthaste? A phone that doesn't ring isn't much use to me.

I just called and reporter it to T-Mobile as well. The rep had not heard of this problem and had nothing in his database about it, but asked that I encourage people to report the problem. The more reports, the faster the problem will be rectified.

Exactly, I'm not going to go over it again but read the other thread.
If you just move the wheel slightly it ceases all sound.

Bump so that more people call. Lovin the phone so lets get all the kinks worked out.

By the way, other people who see it for the first time totally can't believe how small it is and how much it does! Lovin' the pearl (first time i've totally loved a phone before...its a little scary)

I am calling right now. Get the word out to the providers. I called BB and was told the same thing. Call the local providers.

I just called myself from my work line and the moment i slightly moved the 8100's trackball it silenced the ringing! I tried this on all the themes and no dice, same thing. Why are some of us getting this and others not? oy vey!

Yes, this is exactly true. You must call T-Mobile, not RIM.

I don't have that issue with my Pearl at all. My wife just got her Pearl and I tried hers out and regardless of theme hers doesn't have that issue either. Everything seems to be working flawlessly on our BlackBerries.

I can confirm that I just tested on my Pearl that if it is locked, and a call comes in, moving the trackwheel causes the ringer to stop. The call is still trying to be answered, but with no ringtone.

I sent a note off to our T-Mobile account and to several friends at RIM.

I just called T-Mobile and they transferred me to RIM. After reporting the problem, the customer service rep I spoke to suggested I tell all you guys to send your concerns to the email address [email address]
